So, we met at our first Youth Conference together at ages 14 and 15. You impressed me with your awesome 'Carlton' and I wished I could do that too. But, alas, only you could do it up to standard. Then, we were inseparable. Every Saturday night was filled with a stake dance and a hurry back to your house to watch the Spartan Cheerleaders on SNL. Then, on Monday, we would re-enact the episode in the quad at school. My favorite 'at school' memory is standing 3 inches away from each other and shooting cocoa puffs into each others mouths. I don't know how either of us never choked. Or, when it would be so bitterly cold at 50 degrees in the winter, that we stood around a hot cup o noodles from the cafeteria to keep warm. I loved all the sleep overs, where we could share all our secrets to each other and knew the other wouldn't tell any one else. I loved the church swap meet we went to where we bought 2 bags full of mismatched clothes to try on and have a photo shoot. I loved church volleyball with you, where we were counting and loving the bruises after each game on our legs from diving for the ball all the time. I love that when I moved to Provo when you were at BYU, that you took me out the first night I was there and showed me Cafe Rio, even though the line was like Disneyland and it took us 45 minutes to get through it. And that we were close again and could hang out all the time. I loved working with you at Papa Johns where all the hot guys were and all those same guys took us to the abandoned mines by Delta and we threw gas bombs down the holes. I loved the 4th of July where we drove up past Sundance and made out with some trees (Mary Catherine Gallagher style) The most favorite thing I love is that even though we don't talk every day and it may be a year before we see each other, we can pick right back up again and have fun and be crazy like we used to. I love that I can call you any time and you are there at the drop of a hat if I need you. I am so grateful for a best friend like you and can't imagine my past or future without you involved. Love you Ash. I hope your 30th is all you could dream of and more.
Love,
Rach
